Finally Spring is in full swing & we can all crawl out from under the winter weather that hangs over Melbourne! Several days ago our friends, Melani & Andre Van Der Westhuizen invited us to share the weekend with them at Cape Paterson. It's past Phillip Island on the coast, about 1 hour from our home. We stayed at a caravan park that had sea view cabins. We had no idea what to expect & were pleasantly surprised to find that our cabins were new and clean & full of everything we needed for our stay. The cabins were great & the view was unbelievable. We only stayed for 2 days, 3 days would have been perfect, a note for next time!
Cape Paterson is a small holiday town on a cape at the end of Australia, in the Gippsland region of Victoria. It sits on the Bass Strait that separates mainland Australia from Tasmania. The seas can be rough & extremely cold in that area as the Antarctic is just below Tasmania. The only thing that could have made the weekend slightly better would have been more sunshine! As it turned out, the weather was cold, but not too bad. We enjoyed walks along the beach exploring. Melani & I traded off making meals for our families, it was a restful beautiful weekend. A big thank you to Melani & Andre for thinking of us! I would definitely do this again during the summer. The caravan contact information is:
